Bibliotherapy
Links Under Construction. Please check back.
Bibliotherapy is a form of therapy that utilizes books, workbooks, audio books and visuals such as movies. It involves use of these materials to aid people in addressing problems they may be facing. Your therapist might "prescribe" a movie or book that could provide insight or catharsis. The selection of material is intended to have relevance for your particular issues. Research has shown it to be effective in the treatment of depression. Research has also shown the results to be long lasting. (Excerpted from Wikipedia)
The SCC Counseling Center has its own collection of these materials, located in the HS/HSL library. They are available for students to check out and take home.
