NATIONAL DEPRESSION SCREENING DAY
SMC Fireplace Lounge, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
We provide short-term, professional counseling and psychiatric services for currently enrolled full-time and part-time UMB students. Our mission is to help promote and maintain the emotional well-being of UMB students and serve as a resource to the entire university community.
We Are Here to Help You Succeed
There are many reasons why someone might seek counseling. Many people who attend counseling are bright, skilled, and stable people seeking help with problems in a specific area as well as personal growth and development. We believe that that it takes a great deal of strength and courage to ask for help and support, and that seeking counseling is a sign of good mental health by showing that you are ready to take control of your life. The Student Counseling Center values each person for their unique personality, experience, culture, and perspective.
Want to Make an Appointment?
Please call 410-328-8404 or stop by during regular business hours to schedule a "phone triage" with an SCC counselor. The counselor will speak with you over the phone or in person for five to 15 minutes to collect preliminary information about you and your current concerns.
The Student Counseling Center offers psychoeducational workshops during the fall and spring semesters. Please check back to see which workshops will be offered during spring semester of 2018! These workshops are offered to current UMB students only.
Academic and Employment Accommodations
Student Counseling Center clinicians do not assess or evaluate for academic or employment disability accommodations, Peace Corps applications, child custody, or any other employment purposes. Disability accommodations at UMB are determined and coordinated by Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS).
