Covering Kids and Families Program
The University of Maryland, Baltimore is the Maryland grantee for a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant entitled "Covering Kids and Families" that promotes health insurance for all children in the state. Through the grant, a coalition of state and local agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations has been formed to aid the Covering Kids and Families group in it's task of enrolling all Maryland children in health insurance programs. Operating out of the President's Office of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Covering Kids and Families supports pilot programs in 4 areas of the state that are dedicated to reaching out to underserved children and enrolling them in public or private health insurance programs. The Covering Kids and Families pilot outreach programs are located in Western Maryland (Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties), Southern Maryland (Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties), Baltimore City, Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland (all counties east of the Chesapeake Bay).
MissionMaryland Covering Kids and Families is a statewide public/private partnership committed to identify and enroll eligible children and families into health coverage programs to improve Maryland's health outcomes.
