What is the difference between Departmental and Personal Use Purchases for Adobe software?

Departmental Purchases:

Paid faculty and staff of the University of Maryland Baltimore only. Software must be purchased and installed on machines that are owned or leased by the University. Software must be purchased by the department, not with personal funds. Orders are placed with the Software Licensing Office.

For concurrent license purchases, software must be picked up and installed by your departmental IT Support person.

Personal Use and Student Purchases:

Paid faculty and staff, as well as currently enrolled students of the University of Maryland Baltimore only. Software can be purchased and installed on machines that are owned by the faculty, staff or student, and may be used for any purpose. Software must be purchased in person by the faculty, staff or student at the Circulation Desk of the HS/HSL, and paid for with credit card or cash. Adobe software is encrypted, and each has a special key code that cannot be replaced if lost or oversubscribed.

RESTRICTIONS:     END-USER MAY PURCHASE ONE STUDENT LICENSE PER TITLE OFFERED.  THE STUDENT LICENSE MAY NOT BE RESOLD OR TRANSFERRED BY THE END-USER.
