Introduction of the myUMBid

CITS is pleased to announce the launch of the myUMBid and the enhanced myUMB Account Management Site.  The myUMBid enables users to choose their own usernames for all Directory-Enabled Enterprise Applications.  A username can be set and changed whenever and as often as desired.  Once a myUMBid has been set up, a user will no longer need to use his or her eUMB Employee ID (“EMPL ID”), Affiliate ID, SIMS ID, or 14-digit OneCard number to log into these applications.  In addition to the Enterprise Applications listed below, many school and departmental applications are starting to leverage this common method of authentication.

Enterprise Applications that can make use of the myUMBid immediately are:

  • myUMB Portal (and all eUMB applications accessed via the Portal)
  • Wireless and VPN Access
  • All CITS-developed Cold Fusion applications, including
    • Site Executive Content Management System
    • Freezer Program
    • Greenbaum Cancer Center Shared Services Application
    • Web FTP Application
    • HR Online Courses registration
    • Intranet
    • Numerous School of Social Work and Dental School Applications

The myUMBid can be managed via the new myUMB Account Management Site  In addition to the myUMBid, this site allows users to set or change their authentication information, such as the myUMB Password and the myUMB Secret Question and Answer.  The purpose of the new site is to provide a single place for users to administer their myUMB Accounts.
