The eUMB Project
Phase 1 - Human Resources
Phase 2 - Payroll
Phase 3 - Financials/Grants
July 2003
Current State: Phase 2 is "live" and in production. The go live date for Phase 1 (Human Resources and Position Management modules) was October 14, 2002. Payroll, including the Time and Labor and Commitment Accounting modules of the PeopleSoft system, along with a new interface to the State Central Payroll Bureau went "live" on March 24, 2003.
Phase 3 Overview:UMB is in the process of planning for a new University-wide research and financial system. The grants application, as part of the comprehensive, integrated research and financial system, will support the requirements and administrative functions related to sponsored research activities. The financials applications include the general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing and budgeting. A project planning document will be developed which identifies the functional priorities and implementation timelines.

April 2003 - and ongoing :
HR/Payroll system stabilization and support
July:
CITS purchased the equipment for the Grants and Financials Modules. A contract was finalized with Cedar and PeopleSoft Corporation which acquired the expertise needed for planning the implementation of the financial, grants management system modules.
August:
Hardware will arrive and be installed for the new financial, grants system. The software will be "certified" by PeopleSoft software installers. Training needs will be identified and a training schedule will be prepared. Project staff roles and responsibilities will be defined.
September 8 :
Kick-off an intensive 12 week project scope and business needs analysis, fit/gap and security analysis as well as planning activities related to the implementation of the PeopleSoft Financials, Grants Management System, version 8.4
December:
Comprehensive and detailed project plan will be finished and implementation phase begins.
Phase 3 Outcome: A comprehensive and integrated financials and grants system which offers contemporary technology and state-of-the-art functionality for research administration and financial services.
