Parts on All Templates

Site Title

The site title appears below the red University navigation bar and above your website on every page of your website. It should be defined on the top-most folder of your website for each template that is used within your website. To do so, follow these instructions:

Create the file

  1. Create an "includes" folder in the top-most folder your website if you do not already have one. This folder will contain files that are included in your website's tempalte.
  2. Create a file within the includes folder. Give the file a name and title of site-title. Under Tempalte, choose subsite_blank. Click "Save" to create the file.
  3. Edit site-title. Click within the text area and type the name of your sub-site. Link the title of your site's title to your website's top-most folder. Do not give the text any styles.
  4. Save and publish site-title.

Embed the file in the template

  1. Click on the top-most folder of your website.
  2. Click on the blue tab titled "Dynamic Content."
  3. From the "template" drop-down, select a template that you are using within your website.
  4. Find "Module: Site Title." Select the site-title you just created as the object for this module.
  5. Click "Save."
  6. Navigate to your website to make sure the changes have been made.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for each template you have included on your website.

Extras Sidebar

The extras sidebar is located below the main site navigation on your website. This area is for supplementary information and can be different for each folders' contents within your website. To create and modify the extras sidebar on your website, follow these instructions:

Create the file

  1. Create an "includes" folder in the top-most folder of your website if you do not already have one. This folder will contain files that are included in your website's template.
  2. Create a file within the includes folder. Give the file a name and title of extras-sidebar. If this sidebar is for only one folder, you may want to add the name of the folder to the name of the file so you know which extras sidebar this is. Under Tempalte, choose subsite_blank. Click "Save" to create the file.
  3. Edit the file you just created. Click within the text area and create your content. Be sure to abide by all style guidelines.
  4. Save and publish site-title.

Embed the file in the template

  1. Click on the folder in your website that you want to apply the newly created extras sidebar to.
  2. Click on the blue tab titled "Dynamic Content."
  3. From the "template" drop-down, select a template that you are using within your website.
  4. Find "Module: Extras Sider." Select the extras sidebar file you just created as the object for this module.
  5. Click "Save."
  6. Navigate to your website to make sure the changes have been made.

Page Content Area

The page content area is edited in the "Preview/Edit" tab in SiteExecutive. This content appears in the main content area of the templates, which is located to the right of the navigation. If you create page content on the homepage template, it will display below all other modules (slideshow, introduction, columns). Be sure to abide by all style guidelines.
