| Intercampus Biochemistry Doctoral Program Financial Assistance Financial assistance is available on a competitive basis to students accepted into the program. Qualified first-year students are usually offered graduate research assistantships and teaching assistantships. Research assistantships are often available for students actively engaged in thesis research. For Fall 2001, Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) are estimated to be $18,000 - $20,000 plus student health insurance ($1000) plus 10 credits of tuition remission per semester ($231/credit). In addition, students are encouraged to apply for university fellowships, as well as nationally awarded graduate fellowships, such as those offered by the National Science Foundation. The rate of student stipend is determined by the Graduate School and revised each fiscal year (July 1- June 30). Qualified students are encouraged to apply for Meyerhoff Graduate Fellowship support.
