Blackboard Mobile Learn Frequently Asked Questions

Return to main Blackboard Mobile Learn Site

Q:I launch the Blackboard Mobile Learn app from my Android, but I get an error about not being on the Sprint network.  Why?
A:

Blackboard Mobile Learn is only available on Android, Blackberry and Palm when the phone carrier is Sprint.  Use of these devices on other carriers like Verizon is not supported, even though the app is available for you to install.  This is because of an agreement between Blackboard and Sprint.

All iPhone, iPad and other iDevices can use the app, but over Wi-Fi only.

Q:I normally log in to Blackboard using a username that is not my UMID.  How can I log in using those credentials using Blackboard Mobile Learn?
A:

Blackboard Mobile Learn is only available to those users who use their UMID to log into Blackboard through the sites “blackboard.umaryland.edu” or “law.blackboard.umaryland.edu”.   If you log in to a CE site or non-curriculum program with an account other than your myUMid, you will not be able to use Blackboard Mobile Learn.
