General Information Summer Softball Rules - ASA rules are in effect with UAC modifications including.
- Teams are composed of 10 per side.
- Each team must have at least 2 female & 2 male players.
- Players have a 1-1 count with an extra foul
- Games are 7 innings with a 10 run mercy after 5 innings (15 after 4 innings)
Skill Levels
All teams are combined into one skill level for the regular season. Format
Each team will play a double-header each week for a total of 14 games in the regular season. An elimination tournament will follow. Manager’s Meeting
A team representative should attend the manager’s meeting. Schedules and rules will be discussed. The Manager’s meeting will be on Tuesday, May 20 at 5:15 pm in the University Athletic Center’s main office. Team Fee
$ 225.00 per team for the league fee to cover ASA registration & field costs (by May 20). $ 250.00 if paid after May 20. Eligibility
All players must be a UMB student, have a membership, or purchase an Intramural Pass. The Intramural Pass can only be purchased by individuals who are eligible for UAC membership. Eligibility Info. Currently enrolled and fee paying students at UMBC and UB are eligible to participate in the Spring league. Guests
Guests and those not eligible for UAC Membership are ineligible to participate in this league. Individual Fee: - Current UMB Students - No additional fee (free) or pass necessary

- UMBC or UB Students - No additional fee (free) or pass necessary
- UMB Alumni (2006 & 2005 class) - No additional fee (free) or pass necessary
- UMB Alumni (2005 & prior) - $ 10.00 Intramural Pass if not a UAC Member
- Athletic Center Members (current) - No additional fee (free) or pass necessary
- UMB Staff without UAC Membership - No additional fee (free) or pass necessary
- UMBC & UB Staff without UAC Membership - $ 10.00 Intramural Pass if not a UAC Member
- University Hospital, UPI, & STC Staff without UAC Membership - TBD
- All other non-UAC Members or expired members who are eligible for Athletic Center Membership - $ 10.00 Intramural Pass
- Affiliates (spouses, dependents 18-23, etc) - $ 10.00 Intramural Pass
Forfeits - Forfeit Fee: Any team that forfeits during the season will be charged a $ 25.00 forfeit fee. This fee must be paid before the team can resume play in the league.
- Forfiet & Playoffs: Any team that forfeits two nights will be ineligible for post-season play.
