UMB Campus Center Project

Opening in July 2009, the Campus Center will provide a place for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to nurture their collective mind, body, and spirit. With a fully equipped fitness and wellness center, swimming pool and elevated running track, cafes and other dining options for the campus and the west side community, conference and meeting facilities, ballroom, and comfortable lounge spaces, the Campus Center will become part of the fabric of the downtown Baltimore community, drawing together the University and its closest partners.

The $ 55 million Campus Center is a fusion building that combines the best aspects of a student union and a campus recreation center.  This vertical building is comprised of 115,000 sf (new constrcution) and 30,000 sf (renovation).

Note:  The BioPark Fitness & Conditioning Center is not the Campus Center.  This is a unique facility that will open in our BioPark July 15, 2008.  Both recreational facilities will be operated by this department starting the Summer of 2009. Each will run independently of the other.
