2007 -  3D Month

Wednesday, December 12

UM - Hospital Corridor
1st Floor - University MD Hospital

Impaired driving is the most frequently committed violent crime in America. Every 30 minutes, someone in this country dies in an alcohol-related crash, equating to approximately 17,000 deaths per year (Source: The National Commission Against Drunk Driving).

3D Month was established by congressional legislation and presidential proclamation in December 1982 because the Christmas - New Year's period is typically one of the higher risk times on our roads due to a sharp increase in drinking and driving.

We all have choices.  A choice to drink, a choice to drink to impairment, a choice of whether or not to drive and a choice whether to allow someone who is impaired to drive.  Driving deaths and injuries caused by alcohol and drug impairment can be prevented if we make responsible choices.

This 3-D event is provided in the hopes to encourage people to make right choices and for them to encourage others to make right choices.

Sponsored by Shock Trauma and the UMB Athletic Center.
