Francine Brady Art Exhibit
Maryland artist Francine Brady will be featured in the Weise Gallery located in the Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HS/HSL) from Aug. 14 to Oct. 1, 2017.
Brady's figurative acrylic imagery is narrative and symbolic, as can be seen in her creations on canvas and paper. She prefers to keep an air of mystery in her paintings, allowing viewers to form their own conclusions about the stories behind the art.
Brady majored in art at Hunter College in New York City in the 1960s, when the abstract expressionist movement was going strong. She did postgraduate work at C.W. Post on Long Island, and, after moving to Baltimore, took courses at Maryland Institute College of Art. A resident of Frederick since 1999, Brady continues to make art, now mostly drawings and acrylic paintings.
