Shared Governance Forum
The recent shared governance forum on March 30 inspired debate, answered questions, urged audience members to take part in University government, and spelled out why shared governance is so essential.
The Faculty Senate was established to provide an effective and independent voice for faculty in determining University and University System of Maryland goals, recommendations, and policies.
The Faculty Senate is part of a partnership of governance, shared responsibilities, and cooperation among the faculty, administration, regents, students, and members of the campus and university system communities. Please refer to our schedule to find out when and where upcoming meetings are being held. Meetings are open to the faculty and by invitation to others.
Shared Governance Statement
Shared governance is a priority at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). We believe in a shared responsibility among staff, faculty, administration, and students to promote a collaborative process whereby UMB and the faculty, staff, and students have regular dialog on important issues of concern to the parties.
